The Iron Age Exhibition

On the farm Åker in Vang, just outside of Hamar, there have been rich archaeological findings of beautiful weapons, costume accessories and pieces of harnesses with gildings and precious stones from the late 500’s AD. One of the largest gold treasures in Norway is also found here. This bears witness to a rich and powerful family of chieftains who ruled here in the Iron Age. The exhibition tells us the story of the chieftain and how life was in the area in the Iron Age.
