Practical information

Useful things to know when planning a visit:

As we are building a Regional Center for History and Archives from spring 2024 there will be some things that we want to warn our visitors about:
- reduced accessibility by the main entrance
- risk of construction noises
- no toilet facilities for our wheelchair visitors
- no restaurant facilities (bring your own food and have a picnik!)

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, but hope for some understanding and that you will all share our joy and excitement for the reopening of a brand new building in 2026.

The Glass Cathedral and the Herb Garden are partially facilitated for disabled persons. For the Herb Garden, please ask the guide for an alternative entrance.

The Herb Garden also has a section for visually impaired and blind people.

In the Storhamar Barn there are ramps that allow some visiting in wheelchair, with walker or stroller. The access into the building may be difficult for some devices, though.

Please get in touch if you have any questions regarding museum facilities.

There are some refreshments for sale in main entrance to the museum. There will also be a food truck serving pancakes and coffee.

You are allowed (and strongly adviced) to bring your own food and drink for a picnic in the park or by the Herb Garden.

NB! Disposal grills are not allowed in any part of the museum!
